Pokemon GO has been running around the world for over two years now, and the game has shown no signs of slowing down as a new PokeStop Nomination feature is on the horizon for players to expand on the number of PokeStops available.

Developer Niantic has announced that rollout has begun for the PokeStop Nomination feature, which will allow players to submit locations around the world for possible inclusion in Pokemon GO as PokeStops for players to gather around, collect items from, and more.

The feature itself will begin rolling out in beta form to players first in Brazil and South Korea, with the feature limited to Level 40 players in those respective areas; the new feature will eventually expand to other regions beyond the two initial test regions at a later time.

Aside from those requirements, players interested in submitting their favorite locations for potential inclusion in Pokemon GO can submit pictures and information about the locations through the Ingress Operation Portal Recon project, where the submissions will then be evaluated by “experienced users” afterward, according to Niantic.

Given that Pokemon GO has experienced a massive resurgence of users over the past few months, these measures from Niantic show that the community around the game is thriving, and hopefully more integration between players and the community in Pokemon GO can continue to develop its strongest qualities.

Pokemon GO is available now on iOS and Android.
