Rockstar is branching into the PC games launcher market. The newly released Rockstar Games Launcher has all the basic features you’d expect from a company-specific game launcher–a library that stores your digital and disk-based titles and a store with a few classics.
The launcher fills out your library by pulling titles you’ve purchased physically or from other digital storefronts. A scan upon installation will check for any currently installed Rockstar games you have on your PC. Anything the scan finds gets put into your library.
The store doesn’t have a ton going on right now. The titles available for purchase are Grand Theft Auto V, Bully: Scholarship Edition, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto III, L.A. Noire, and Max Payne 3. Installing the Rockstar Games Launcher will net you a free copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for a limited time.

The launcher supports cloud save functionality across supported titles. If you have any saves on your PC when it gets scanned, those should be kept. Your library can also be automatically updated on the regular.
All in all, the Rockstar Games Launcher looks like a simple, straightforward venture. Don’t expect anything revolutionary or especially creative just yet.
I expect GTA V to be the best selling title in the store. It continues to be one of the best-selling games period, despite releasing for the PS3 and Xbox 360 six years ago today. It was the second-best-selling digital game on the PS4 in July, coming up right behind Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition.
