Do you like League of Legends? How about ten consecutive hours of League of Legends? If so, then today was your lucky day if you took in the insane final day of the North American LCS Spring Split regular season.

After nine weeks of play, the NA LCS standings were mostly undecided after the end of Sunday’s normal slate of matchups. While the six teams that would be advancing to the playoffs were decided, the order in which they would be seeded was left undecided. At the top of the standings, 100 Thieves and Echo Fox were tied with a record of 12-6 while Team SoloMid, Cloud9, Team Liquid, and Clutch Gaming were locked in a four-way tie for third at 11-7.

This led to a long state of extended tiebreaker games where 100 Thieves and Echo Fox dueled for first and second while the rest played a set of four games to determine positions three through six.

At the end of it all, 100 Thieves beat Echo Fox for the second time on Sunday to lock-in the number one seed and the playoff first-round bye. After the other tiebreaker games dragged nearly into Monday morning, the Spring Split standings finally settled as follows:

  1. 100 Thieves (12-6)
  2. Echo Fox (12-6)
  3. Team SoloMid (11-7)
  4. Team Liquid (11-7)
  5. Cloud9 (11-7)
  6.  Clutch Gaming (11-7)
  7. Counter Logic Gaming (7-11)
  8. FlyQuest (6-12)
  9. Optic Gaming (5-13)
  10. Golden Guardians (4-14)

The NA LCS Spring playoffs will kick-off next week with the quarterfinal round which will see Team SoloMid taking on Clutch Gaming while Team Liquid will battle with Cloud9. The lowest seed of that group to advance will move on to face 100 Thieves in the semifinals the following week while the highest seed emerging from the quarterfinals will advance to see Echo Fox. Each matchup in the playoffs will be a best-of-five series compared to the single-game matches that we’ve seen so far this Split.

If today’s games were indicative of anything, the Spring Split playoffs are shaping up to be downright insane and should be a joy to watch. With one win separating first place from sixth, it seems feasible to say that the Spring Split Championship could go to just about anyone at this point.
