As two of the biggest games to debut in the spring, it’s safe to say that normally DOOM Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons would be speaking to very different audiences. However, with the most wholesome game on the planet releasing alongside the most violent, the internet has run wild with crossovers between the two franchises, including a delightful animated video with the one and only Isabelle and the Doom Slayer.
A new animated video has appeared from 3D artist and animator The Dashing Doctor K that brings together the worlds of Animal Crossing and DOOM. Specifically, the video itself (which was built in Source Filmmaker) imagines the Doom Slayer making a new friend in Isabelle, with the two quickly becoming best buds and working together to fight off the demons of Hell. You can check out the full video below, which is titled “What Isabelle’s been doing while waiting for you to upgrade resident services”:
With their launch last week, both Animal Crossing: New Horizons and DOOM Eternal seem like they are off to incredibly good starts. DOOM Eternal has already made a record for the franchise with the best opening week sales of a DOOM game yet. Though Bethesda didn’t confirm a specific sales number, reportedly it has made twice as much revenue as the launch of 2016’s DOOM in its first week. Likewise, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has already sold more than 1.88 million copies in Japan, making it the best-selling debut for a Switch game in Japan since the system’s launch. It seems like the Doom Slayer and Isabelle surely do make a good team.
DOOM Eternal is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC, and will be coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
