One of the stranger stories to come out of 2018 involved Warner Bros.’ Westworld mobile game, which was said to share some of the same source code as Bethesda Softworks’ mobile title Fallout Shelter. Following this discovery, Bethesda then filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. which as of earlier today was still pending.

Well, that no longer is the case, as both Bethesda and developer Behaviour Interactive announced this afternoon that the lawsuit has now been resolved. Terms of how the lawsuit came to be rectified were not disclosed to the public, however,

This was the given statement from both parties to announce today’s settlement:

Bethesda Softworks and Behaviour Interactive jointly announced today that the parties have amicably resolved the lawsuit Bethesda brought against Behaviour and others related to the Fallout Shelter and Westworld mobile games.

As is common with most lawsuits of this manner, Bethesda and the other involved parties likely agreed to a deal that would keep this case out of court. What the details of that settlement are almost certainly will never be known, but it’s likely safe to say that it netted Bethesda a certain amount of money or a percentage of sales from the Westworld Mobile app.

Let’s just hope for Bethesda’s sake that no one tries to take any code from their upcoming mobile release of The Elder Scrolls: Blades when it launches this year.
