During an Active Time Report broadcast from Tokyo, Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata and Marketing Manager Akio Otsuka provided more information on the future of the game alongside other developers from the team.

First of all, Comrades expansion Director Kazuya Takahashi announced that on December 12th Square Enix is planning to release version 1.1.0 of the expansion, dedicated to bug fixing and updates.

Fixes will include the inability to level up in some cases, problems with multiple quests, cases in which enemies don’t appear, issues that make progression impossible and more. Planned improvements include travel times between Lestallum and the camp, shorter loading times, shortening of the generation time of AI companions and more.

New content will include Time Limited Quests, which involves quick matching of players dedicated to quests in which you have to defeat a cetain number of enemies within a certain time limit.

Another new implementation is the “Witch’s Shop” that will grant you buffs that you would get from meals in exchange for rewards of the timed quests.

Then we get to see the Extra Battle feature.

We also hear from Development Manager Daisuke Oe about the “First Anniversary Update” that will let players swap playable character in combat to Gladiolus, Prompto, and Ignis seamlessly. Each character will play like in its DLC, and the update will come in December.

A trailer was showcased, and you can check it out below.

On top of that,  Hajime Tabata announced that the Pocket Edition for iOS and Android has been delayed from the Fall to the Winter.

Details for more content updates coming in the future will be decided before the end of this year and they will be announced in due time when they are finalized. There will be at least three DLC of the size of the “Episodes” that came this year. The first will be Episode Ardyn, and it will delve deeper into the world’s background. The team is also aware that there have been many requests for Luna.

On the long-term, the team will implement the ability to use relevant characters appeared in the game as playable. Including the avatar system to let you play your original characters is being considered as well. Further updates will come, letting players enjoy the game for a long time.

Final Fantasy XV is currently available for PS4 and Xbox One, and will launch for PC on Steam in early 2018. If you want to learn more, you should read our recent interview with Director Hajime Tabata and our review of the game.
