Manifold Garden is a first-person exploration game that has been in development for seven years. Throughout the long creation process, developer William Chyr has kept the community completely in the process by working on the project live on his Twitch channel. Today, Chyr announced that the game finally has a release date and it’s much closer than you might think.
Manifold Garden is visually stunning and features some truly mind-boggling puzzles. The game is full of trippy architecture and Chyr uses it to its full effect. The game has consistently been winning convention awards since 2014 and it’s easy to see why. Obviously, this type of game isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if you like puzzle games, Manifold Garden has a ton to offer you.
In a lot of ways, Manifold Garden makes me think of a prettier Antichamber. Both are deeply imaginative and use a minimal color palette to really make their world pop. I just happen to like the look of Chyr’s game more. Hopefully, Chyr can deliver similar levels of mind-bending. And, if the gameplay I’ve seen so far is any indication, there’s no reason to believe the game won’t do just that.
Manifold Garden launches on October 18. That’s just two days away. At launch, the game will be available on PC via the Epic Game Store and Apple Arcade. At some point in the future, it should also come to Steam and PS4, though dates for those two platforms were not included in today’s release date trailer.
